Since 1995, The Toronto Festival of Beer has been
providing lovers of the golden elixer with a perfect
summer outing. The festival is held over four days every
August at Historic Fort York, located in downtown
Toronto.
The location is fantastic! Although you don’t really get
a chance to look around the historic site - home to the
largest collection of War of 1812-era buildings in North
America - it adds a unique atmosphere to the Festival.
This is a great place to try the numerous microbrewery
offerings available from across Ontario and Quèbec. That
doesn’t mean the majors aren’t here either. You’ll find
everyone from Molson and Labatt’s to Mill Street and
Robert Simpson, as well as numerous international
imports.
In addition, there is a grilling tent featuring some of
the finest chefs, and live performances on two stages
throughout the day.
Cost is reasonable, but if you’re planning on attending
on either Friday or Saturday, be sure to buy your tickets
early as it regularly sells out.
Plan your transportation accordingly, access by public
transit is good and taxis are always an option. The Fort
is also within walking distance of the downtown core.
Don’t drink and drive!
